While you may know them for their helmets, Giro also has an extensive line of both casual and sport glasses, as well as goggles for dirt and snow use. Inside we take a closer look at their value packed Station goggle and Fader glasses.

Read on...

Giro Station goggles

Giro Station goggle
Giro Station goggle

Giro's Station goggle is a value packed option that should appeal to a lot of riders who are looking for reasonably priced eye protection and quality optics. The crystal clear lens has been given a special anti-fog treatment that should keep hazy views at bay. The frame itself has been engineered in such a shape as to mate perfectly with Giro's fullface helmets and is flexible to prevent damage if the worst happens.

Giro Station goggle details

  • Uses Giro's Super Fit Engineered frame
  • Polycarbonate lens
  • Lens features anti-fog treatment
  • Colors: gloss red/clear (shown), matte black/clear, gold/clear
  • MSRP $50.00 USD

bigquotesThe quality of lens used on the Station goggle is stunning, especially given their impressive price - but while they fit excellent in Giro's Remedy helmet, they didn't play well with my less common Urge fullface. - Mike Levy

The Fader glasses fit into Giro's lifestyle category, although we used them for both sitting on the deck and riding. The majority of riders should be happy with the Fader's medium fit sized frame, but if you're looking for something larger they also have the Tone to keep you stoked.

Giro Fader glasses details

  • Medium fit sized frame
  • ZEISS certified lenses
  • Lens features anti-fog treatment
  • Blocks 100% of UVA/UVB/UVC rays
  • Colors: red/grey (shown), black/green, black/gray, white/brown, black/white, cola tort/brown
  • MSRP $90.00 USD

who seriously uses tearoff lenses? when it gets that muddy on our dh runs me and most locals dont even bother with goggles, we just blink more, maybe at the mega or other looong races, but for 3 mins of dh, uneccesary

surely there are lenses with posts for tearoffs, but I agree with chazdog. sometimes one small but precisely thrown drop of mud can ruin a dh run too chazdog...

I use them to protect my lens from dust and mud scratches, I remove the tear tab so that it doesn't flap though. I just wipe mud and dirt off them and replace them when they get scratched. Better than going through new lenses all the time.

oakley's lenses are no where near comparable to giro's. sure they have all this technologically advanced crap, but the zeiss lenses are just phenomenal. i've owned a pair of oakleys and now use giro instigators. not only are they more comfortable, but i don't look like every other 12 year old kid on the block that's sporting popped collars and gascans/oilrigs.
